About Storage Solutions in Laguna Niguel

Popeye Moving & Storage offers full-service vaulted storage at its own warehouse at 5509 1/2 S Centinela Ave in Mar Vista, on the Westside of Laguna Niguel. This is not self-storage. There is no unit to rent and no key to carry: our crews pack, load and handle your goods, and the warehouse is climate controlled for both temperature and humidity. Goods picked up from your home are placed into vaults at the warehouse the same day, with no overnight hold on the truck.

Vaulted Storage keeps each customer's goods together in sealed wooden vaults, loaded once and moved as a unit by forklift, in the full range of vault sizes. Long-Term Storage has no minimum and no maximum term, for anyone between homes, renovating, downsizing or holding belongings they will not need for a while. Commercial & Business Storage accepts office furniture, files, fixtures and stock alongside household goods. Designer Receiving & Consolidation lets furniture and decor bought for a new home be received into storage and held together until the home is ready.

Storage paperwork matters. Storage requested as part of a move, for up to 90 days, is storage-in-transit and stays within the mover's regulated service. Beyond that, goods are held under the warehouse's own storage agreement under California Commercial Code Division 7, so read the agreement for its liability and claims terms. We store wine, fine art, pianos and chandeliers, but not vehicles.

Storage Solutions Coverage in Laguna Niguel

Movers for Laguna Niguel, CA in south Orange County: gated hillside homes with private streets, and condos and townhomes with motor courts and carports. Access qualified up front.

Popeye serves Laguna Niguel, ZIP code 92677, an inland Orange County city framed by Interstate 5 on the northeast and the San Joaquin Hills Toll Road, State Route 73, to the north. Crown Valley Parkway, La Paz Road, Alicia Parkway, Moulton Parkway and Golden Lantern carry most traffic, and most homes sit up from them on sloped streets. In the gated hillside communities, access is booked through the association or the guard, and private-road length and weight limits are checked before the vehicle is chosen. In the condominium and townhome communities, the association sets move rules, and loading around motor courts, shared driveways and carports is planned to fit them. Because the city is well outside the Los Angeles County core, travel time is included in the quote, and the street permit position is confirmed for each address rather than assumed.

Local Issues

Common Storage Solutions Issues in Laguna Niguel

Long, steep driveways

Built on slopes and shoulders, many Laguna Niguel homes have long and often steep driveways where a full-size truck cannot sit near the furniture.

Private streets and gate access

Gated hillside communities have private streets, with access arranged through the association or the guard before the move day.

Private-road vehicle limits

Length and weight limits on private roads can decide which vehicle is allowed in, so a shuttle may be planned and priced at the estimate.

Motor courts and carports

Condominiums and townhomes built from the 1970s through the 2000s use shared driveways, motor courts, tandem and tuck-under garages and carports, which limit where a truck can load.

Community move rules

In attached housing, move rules and loading arrangements are set by the community, so they are collected before the date is fixed.

Local Tips

Storage Solutions Tips for Laguna Niguel Residents

Call your association or guard early to learn how movers are admitted and whether private-road length or weight limits apply.

Describe your driveway and parking, including any motor court or carport, when you call so the access can be qualified before a date is set.

In a condominium or townhome community, get a copy of the move rules and share them at the estimate.

Real reviews from Laguna Niguel-area customers we've served.

Rated 5 out of 5
β€œDue to the fact that I was out of the country for 2 years and had to give up my rental apartment for that period, I had my belongings stored with Popeye Moving & Storage. I can absolutely recommend them to anybody in need for moving services and especially for storage services. They were a very professional, experienced and thorough team and everything was handled meticulously. Their help in getting my belongings packed and the delicate items crated professionally was a huge relief. Their storage facility is clean and well organized and the storage units had proper ventilation. It was a real storage facility with temperature control, none of the stored items got damaged over the period of time. Thank so much Stephen and team for your great and valued service. Anytime again.”

Storage Solutions in Laguna Niguel - Frequently Asked Questions

Vaulted storage typically runs $60 to $90 per vault per month in Laguna Niguel. That is a typical market range, not a quote. Our 245 cubic foot vaults save 10 to 15 percent vs self-storage, and the number of vaults you need depends on how much you are storing. Your rate is set out in the storage agreement before your goods go in.

Moves that start and end inside California are regulated by the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS), not the CPUC, which stopped regulating household movers on July 1, 2018 under Senate Bill 19. Popeye Moving & Storage operates under CAL T 189749 for moves inside California, holds USDOT 1472924 and MC 498816C for interstate work, and is fully insured. Storage requested as part of a move, for up to 90 days, is storage-in-transit and remains a regulated mover service under Maximum Rate Tariff 4. Past 90 days, goods are held under the warehouse storage agreement and California Commercial Code Division 7, not the Self-Service Storage Facility Act, because vaulted storage gives no customer access to a unit. You can check any mover's permit with BHGS at bhgs.dca.ca.gov or on (916) 999-2041 before you book, and complaints about a California household mover go to BHGS.

Yes. Estimates are free, including in-home and video estimates, and the survey tells us how many vaults your goods need. If storage is part of a move, the moving price is set in writing before anything is loaded, with a Not To Exceed figure on a move inside California. Call (310) 823-9510 - the office is open 6 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, including Sunday.

With self-storage you rent a unit, hold the key and move goods in and out yourself. With vaulted storage there is no unit and no key: our crews pack your goods into sealed wooden vaults at pickup, the vaults are moved by forklift and kept inside our climate controlled warehouse, and goods are handled fewer times overall. Retrieval is arranged with our office, since the warehouse has to bring out and open the vault.

Goods are placed into vaults at the Mar Vista warehouse the same day as pickup, with no overnight hold on the truck. That keeps the time your belongings spend in transit short and means they go straight into a climate controlled building.

We store household furniture, boxes, clothing and appliances, commercial furniture, files and stock, and items such as wine, fine art, pianos and chandeliers. We do not store vehicles of any kind. Hazardous materials, including gasoline, propane, paint and solvents, are not accepted, and perishable food, plants and open liquids should not go into storage.

Laguna Niguel Questions

Many Laguna Niguel homes are on private streets in gated communities, where access is arranged through the association or the guard, and private-road length and weight limits can decide what vehicle is allowed in. In condominium and townhome communities, move rules and loading arrangements are set by the community. For any public street parking, the permit position is confirmed for the address with the City before the move rather than assumed.

California long-distance moves from Los Angeles typically run $1,500 to $5,000 and local residential moving in the Los Angeles area typically runs $150 to $200 per hour for a two-person crew and truck. These are typical ranges, not a quote. Travel time to Laguna Niguel is part of the price, which is set in writing with a Not To Exceed figure before anything is loaded.

Yes. Popeye operates under CAL T 189749 for moves inside California, which covers Orange County, and USDOT 1472924 and MC 498816C for interstate work, and is fully insured. California household movers are regulated by the Bureau of Household Goods and Services, not the CPUC.

Yes. Popeye offers free in-home and video estimates. A video survey can lead to a guaranteed binding price, and on a move inside California the price is written down, with a Not To Exceed figure, before anything is loaded.

Yes. Popeye offers full-service vaulted storage at its own warehouse at 5509 1/2 S Centinela Ave in Mar Vista. Goods go into vaults at the warehouse the same day as pickup, with no overnight hold on the truck. There is no unit or key, storage is climate controlled for temperature and humidity, and there is no minimum or maximum term.

Often not all the way. Laguna Niguel is built on slopes, driveways run long and often steep, and private-road limits in gated communities can restrict the vehicle. Where a full-size truck cannot sit near the home, a shuttle with a smaller vehicle is the professional method and is priced at the estimate.

Ask the association or the guard how access is arranged, whether private-road length or weight limits apply, and what move rules and loading arrangements the community sets. In attached housing the governing documents decide what is the owner's and what is the association's, so the community's rules shape the plan.

Laguna Niguel is in south Orange County between Laguna Beach and Mission Viejo, well outside the Los Angeles County core. The travel is real, so it is included in the written quote from the start rather than absorbed or added later.
