Lakefront and hillside moves at Sherwood Lake Club, sized for narrow private roads and short parking areas
About Residential Moving in Sherwood Lake Club
Lakefront and hillside home moves at Sherwood Lake Club, the gated community around Lake Sherwood in Ventura County. Popeye Moving & Storage plans truck size for narrow private roads, tight turning and small parking areas before the date is set.
Sherwood Lake Club stands at 341 Williamsburg Way around Lake Sherwood itself, a separate gated community from Sherwood Country Club on West Stafford Road and not another name for it, with its own Nicklaus Design golf course. Homes sit on the lakefront and on the hillsides above it, reached by private roads inside the gate. Both clubs fall within Ventura County's Lake Sherwood and Hidden Valley Area Plan, which routes traffic on Potrero Road, Stafford Road and Westlake Boulevard and keeps Carlisle Road for emergency access only, so that is not an approach a truck can plan to use.
Local Issues
Common Residential Moving Issues in Sherwood Lake Club
No room to turn
Narrow private roads around the lake leave little turning space, which can rule out a full-size truck near the house.
Small parking areas
Long approaches often end in a short parking area, so the vehicle size and carry distance are settled at the estimate.
Association truck rules
The community decides what size of vehicle may enter and when, and those limits shape the whole plan.
Confusing the two clubs
Sherwood Lake Club and Sherwood Country Club are separate communities with separate gates, so the right one is confirmed at the first call.

Residential Moving in Sherwood Lake Club - FAQs
Inside the gate the roads are private and the association decides truck size, hours and where a vehicle may stand. On county roads outside the gate, Ventura County Public Works publishes guidance on encroachment and trip permits for oversized vehicles, and we confirm the position with the county for your address before booking.
As typical Los Angeles ranges and not a quote, local residential moving runs $150 to $200 per hour for a two-person crew and truck, and furniture assembly and disassembly runs $75 to $200 for standard items. A shuttle adds trips and the distance adds double drive time, so the written figure reflects your access. It is set before anything is loaded.
Yes. Popeye offers free in-home and video estimates. For a lakefront or hillside property, the approach road, the turning room and the parking area matter as much as the contents, so a survey that sees them is the reliable route. A video survey can lead to a guaranteed binding price.
Not always. The private roads around the water are narrow with limited turning, and some approaches end in a small parking area. If a full-size truck cannot turn or stand near the door, a smaller shuttle vehicle is the professional method, and its time is built into the written price.
No. Sherwood Lake Club is at 341 Williamsburg Way with its own Nicklaus Design course, while Sherwood Country Club is the older club at 320 West Stafford Road. Each has its own gate and rules, so tell us which community you are in when you call.
As soon as the date is set. Crew names and vehicle details go to the gate through the homeowner or the association, along with any certificate of insurance required. Settling that at booking keeps the crew from being turned away, which would cost you a day.
