Our Story
Popeye Moving & Storage started in Los Angeles in 1994 and has been family-owned and operated ever since. The company grew the way moving companies rarely do anymore: by keeping its own trucks, its own crews, and its own warehouse instead of brokering jobs to whoever is available that week. Thirty years later the same family runs it, and the people who answer the phone are the people who plan the move.
Los Angeles is a difficult city to move in, and the company built its methods around that. Hillside streets in Silver Lake and the Hollywood Hills that a full-size truck cannot climb, high-rise buildings in Downtown and Marina del Rey with elevator reservations and loading-dock windows, HOA rules in Beverly Hills and Brentwood, and traffic that turns a ten-mile move into a two-hour drive. Popeye plans around all of it, sends the right size truck, and protects floors, doorways, and furniture on every job.
Moving and storage live under one roof. Popeye owns a vaulted storage warehouse in Los Angeles, so customers between homes, remodeling, staging a property, or receiving furniture for an interior design project store with the same company that moves them. Crews pack, crate, and inventory each vault, and delivery is scheduled when the customer is ready.
